Account and Data Deletion

Delete from the web app or request help from support@stringpitch.app.

1. Export data first

Before deleting the account, request an export from support@stringpitch.app if you want a copy of available profile, settings, custom tuning or practice data. Also save any local-only data that has not synchronized.

2. Review paid access before deletion

Deleting the StringPitch account is not the same as canceling a recurring Stripe payment or withdrawing from a purchase. While signed in, open Account → Subscription:

  • Choose Cancel subscription → Stop the next renewal to prevent the next monthly or yearly charge while keeping access until the paid period ends.
  • If the backend confirms that a statutory withdrawal right is still available, choose Withdraw from the contract and complete the final confirmation.

The account-deletion dialog displays a prominent link to these controls when a recurring monthly or yearly contract is linked to the account, including a billing-retry, past-due or paused state. To prevent an account from being removed while a provider can still collect another payment, permanent deletion is unavailable until the billing record confirms that renewal is canceled or the contract has otherwise ended. If you cannot access the controls, contact support@stringpitch.app.

A past donation does not block account deletion and does not create Premium access. Account deletion is not a refund request and does not reverse a donation; contact support promptly with the Stripe receipt reference about an accidental, duplicate or unauthorized contribution.

3. Delete inside the app

While signed in, open StringPitch, go to Account/Profile and choose Delete account. Review the subscription warning and permanent-deletion confirmation carefully. Password or current OAuth-session verification may be required. If a canceled subscription still has paid time remaining, deleting the account ends your ability to use that account and does not by itself create a refund for the unused period unless mandatory law requires one.

4. Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the account, email support@stringpitch.app with the subject StringPitch account deletion request. Include the account email, sign-in method if known, and a clear request to delete the account and associated data. Never send your password or full card details. We may ask for proportionate verification.

5. Data covered

Where technically available and legally permitted, deletion removes the active authentication account, cloud-backed settings and practice results, account-linked custom tunings and account data no longer needed to provide the service. Local browser data on another device is not automatically removed.

6. Limited retention

We may retain restricted purchase, subscription, donation, consent, cancellation, withdrawal, payment/refund, trial-abuse, security or dispute records where required for tax, accounting, chargebacks, fraud prevention, legal claims or another legal obligation. These records are separated from the active account where practicable, access-restricted and retained only for the relevant period described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Remove local browser data

Use the app’s reset controls where available and clear site data for stringpitch.app in each browser to remove local settings, tunings, statistics and non-authoritative entitlement cache. Clearing browser storage does not cancel a Stripe subscription, refund a donation or delete cloud data.

8. Timing and backups

We aim to complete a verified request without undue delay and generally within one month where GDPR timelines apply. A lawful extension or limited retention may apply for a complex request, security investigation, unresolved payment dispute or statutory record-keeping duty. Deleted information may remain temporarily in protected rolling backups until routine rotation and will not be used for ordinary operations.
